LMT Hire Ltd, officially registered as Lift Move and Test Weight Hire Ltd, is a UK-based provider of test weight hire, lifting equipment, and proof load testing services. As experienced test weight hire specialists in the UK, we support businesses nationwide with safe, reliable and fully certified lifting solutions.
Founded in 2024, LMT Hire Ltd was created with a clear goal — to raise standards across the lifting and testing industry. As a result, we combine practical experience with a complete service offering that supports projects of all sizes.
Our Journey
LMT Hire Ltd was formed through the strategic acquisition of M&M Transport’s Test Weights. This well-established business built a strong reputation for reliability and service within the industry. Following the acquisition, we secured a purpose-built facility to support our growing operations. This allows us to store large volumes of test weights and lifting equipment while maintaining high service standards.
Our full name, Lift Move and Test Weight Hire Ltd, reflects the range of services we provide. However, we trade as LMT Hire Ltd for simplicity. Importantly, our customers still benefit from the same experienced team behind both names.
What We Offer
We currently hold approximately 500 tonnes of test weights in stock, including various shapes, sizes and cradle systems to suit a wide range of applications such as load testing, trailer testing and lifting compliance checks. All weights are supplied with clear markings, lifting points and are stackable for easy use on site.
In addition to test weight hire, we’ve invested in a large inventory of lifting equipment, ranging from eyebolts and shackles to chain blocks and web slings. Every item is supplied fully certified and available for delivery across the UK or collection from our Rotherham depot.
Proof Load Testing & LOLER Services
Our offering doesn’t stop at equipment supply. We also carry out LOLER inspections and proof load testing, either on-site or at our Rotherham-based facility, where we operate a 500-tonne capacity calibrated test rig. This allows us to support both routine inspections and one-off testing projects with speed, precision, and full compliance with LOLER, PUWER and ISO 7500-1:2018 standards.
